heartcry asked: what do you think about the artist propaganda? He was around before bethke...I personally enjoyed Propaganda's G.O.S.P.E.L video more than both bethke videos I've seen. It has more musicality, flow, grounded-ness, and conviction to me.
I had never seen it until now. The poetry is excellent. It’s smart, thoughtful and well presented. The video is great. This is head and shoulders above Bethke. The theological system he puts forward is not entirely accurate in my opinion. But it’s close. It is, more importantly, succinct while lacking vagary. And vagary is a large part of what made Bethke popular. His ambiguity mixed with passion and hyperbole allowed droves to find him as representative of themselves.
